The first FSX shots...

Postby Alphajet_Enthusiast » Thu Nov 16, 2006 12:34 pm

Well, just set my settings how I like them. Medium-high graphics with around 15 frames, but all the less a heck of a lot of fun. Had to post these shots from a mission I flew today...

Flying out from Rotterdam.

Damn, the water is sweet...
Image

The frames are a compromise but still smooth enough to fly helos...
Image

Ah, there is my rig!
Image

Not too hard to land on actually. Yes I was a bit off centre... Do I hear a gas leak? ;)

Cheers!

Well, considering there is a large amount of clouds and explosions on the rig, it will have to do. And the fact that I fixed the maximum at 17? Dunno why? ??? ;D In other parts of the game I have seen frames in the high twenties, peaks in the fourties over brussels in an extra with no weather, but never anything compared to the 50-60 average and 100+ peaks I was used to in FS9; fully maxed out, full res etc. etc.  :P I don't want to turn down the settings, she is fine as is... but I sure do hope that DX10 will sort things out... I will probably have to buy another PC by then anyways...  ;D

No, its no real average. I'm just guessing.  ;)

Nope.. thats about right depending on the scenery

I lock @ 24 and my 7900GTX 512 will drop to between 17-20 under certain conditions

Clouds are not an issue in FSX as they were in FS9. Enjoy them unless you are using a very old system.

Congratulations on your fine purchase, looking good!

With that rig on his rig? Maybe he needs some advice on how to rig up his rig so the rig is more FPS-friendly on his rig. Right?

Nope. 8)

I hold you free not to believe me, but let me tell you and stress the fact that sea water is definitely NOT sweet. ;D

I am still holding out on buying FSX right now.

1. I have been so busy with my job, I haven't even flown a single aircraft in FS2004 in weeks! So i would have anytime to enjoy FSX.

2. FSX might look glamorous right now, but that is just the physical terrain. It has no compatibility with the scenery files of FS2004.

If it were I would have been had FSX loaded and upgraded from FS2004. So I am waiting a while for FSX scenery to start being develope and better aircraft designs to come out before I make the switch!

Enjoyed your pics though, they make me salivate at enjoying FSX the way you do!
I am whatever you say I am 1 :P

Thanks Mav. :)
What you say is pretty true; there are just no aircraft and scenery for FSX as yet. The ones that are available are pretty much direct ports from MSFS:COF and don't stack up in the least against the default stuff. That said, the default models are that good, that it is worth it just for that. :)
I can't wait to see aircraft from the likes of PMDG, Milton, Alpha Bleu Ciel, Roland and those guys for this sim...  :o

Errr most of the FS2004 sceneries are compatible with FSX.
Of course, the result with photo-realist stuff is crappy, but when it comes to meshes or landclasses it's good to take.
