Alas, FS9...

Postby Stormtropper » Mon Nov 06, 2006 11:26 pm

...not gonna get it off of the hard disk just yet, but not gonna worship it as I did once before either...

Picked up FSX over the weekend, and I am just simply blown away...! :o

Just look at the difference between the FSX Extra 300 and the FS9 one!

One thing I love about the FSX system is the missions and subsequent rewards, I'm having a blast trying to do them all.

Forgot which missions these ones are from...

Landing in Alaska...!

Flying accross the Channel blind... ;)

Don't have a screenshot of it, but I must pat myself on the back...I DID complete the 747 Monsoon landing mission with horrid weather and zero visiblity. I surprised myself too...seeing as how I neither do heavies nor anything less than FULL visibility.

Anyways...

...Goodbye FS9!...heres a tribute!

OMG, that shot of the king air.  That alone almost makes me want to run out and buy it.

But then I come to my senses and realize I probably wouldn't be able to run it very well on my year old PC.

Great Stormtropper quality! I love the Alaskan water.

The FS9 one is a stunner too though.... that's my baby  :)

:) ;)

Awesome!!

I'm upgrading my computer tomorrow, 08/11, but in a very hard way, my old AMD 3200+ exceeded the temperature somehow and one of memory cards (1GB Corsair) had a shortcircuit and my motherboard "explode" so I'll buy another  one cos I can't be without a computer for my work (and joy too, course!)
Anyways, my new computer sounds almost like yours Storm

it shall be:

AMD 3800+ 64bits
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
Corsair 1 + 1 GB DDR2 memories
GF 9800 GT 256
120 NEC HD dedicated to fs9/fsX
120 NEC HD for my work

I think it will be a nice one to run fsX - my poor lil 3200+ was kind of good runnin fsX - at least was stable at 18~20 fps - I'll miss it alot

Nice pics, hope my system can get that clear!!!!
JUST ONE WORD: FREEWARE! The more free it is, the more shall I fly!

I guess you fly only inside the USA territory to be so satisfied with FSX.

The rest of the world, believe me, is FAR from satisfied though.

Beginner-like errors in the non-USA landclasses, missing coasts in the Greek islands, Lukla having been transformed in another airport altogether, Italy has become a desert the likes of Arizona, all the South America on its head...

Makes you wonder what were they really thinking about when they were making FSX. Not to FSX, sure. Maybe they wanted to play more at golf instead of being constricted inside for the incredible amount of 2 hours every day to work on this simulator. >:(
