Excellent, finally we get it confirmed :)
Now we need arrestor cables... I wonder something:
since MS has reactivated/imported the moving landable surfaces introduced by CFS2, did they reactivated/imported their CFS2 arrestor cables as well ? Would be definitely COOL, but I'm not very optimistic on this one...

PS: the wake looks great...too short for a carrier of course, but great anyway, especially on this top-down view :)

If carriers can move, thats great, but surely they will move so far then need to reset back to the original position. So sooner or later, you are going to be a few hundred feet from a beautiful carrier landing when the thing disappears into thin air!!!

:)

In my FS2004 Kai Tak scenery I had a cruise liner that started in Hong Kong bay, travelled right round the Island and returned to where it started from. Then it stayed there for a while and started off again. If you wanted to you could take off from Kai Tak and go look for it, it was quite good fun.

It used a now obsolete method of making moving objects call DOD (Dynamic Object Design) which in my opinion has never been matched since. Anyway, objects don't have to move over tiny distances before disappearing, that's the point.

We don't know how the carriers will move in FSX but if you look, the small boats in the harbour don't disappear, just as AI air traffic doesn't and just as my cruise liner doesn't either. I have high hopes that we will have the potential to make some really interesting water scenery - especially as I mentioned in my FSXforum thread, if you combine moving ships with adapted flour bombing

I think that's every single one of the carriers the US Navy has commissioned right now in that first shot, Rog. ;D

I hope you're right but I was chasing a truck around St Maartan in FSX the other day (trying to land the microlight on the back of it ;)) And that just dissappeard. Hopefully this is just one of the pre release bugs that MS know about as mentioned in the ReadMe

I'll bet good ole Nick Needham (NickN) who is a FSX (beta and alpha?) tester and has been running the full, real system for some time now has already got quite a few new FSX effects up his sleeve.

Right Nick?

Thanks for the link to your thread! That is real cool, just wish microsoft could hire some better scenery designers to enhance the look of the carriers!
