Merlin over Malta - leg 7 - Part II - The arrival!

Just when I thought the sea was never going to end, I spotted the island of Malta, like a pearl in the vast ocean...



I dove towards the coast to make several low fly-by's as promised to the Maltese authorities...



Hunderds of tourists and aircraftlovers had gathered along the harbour... I lost count of the numerous flashes I saw...



Last turn over the capital Valletta...



Before setting this beauty down at Luqa airport...



There she finally is, after all those years, another Merlin roars over the island. The plane will remain on the island for the rest of the year, as part of the yearly WWII memorial-activities... You guys are all welcome to go down there and visit this stunning beauty... I'm gonna miss flying her...

Brings back memories... I was in Malta for a week back in 92, I had my first girlfriend back then and I connect the two, as well as my dear Grandad who was an air mechanic there during WWII.

Ahhh....
