Griffs first screenshot

My first screenshot. I just used paint, and the resolution isn't great, so any tips on how I could get a better quality screenshot would be much appreciated:)

Hey welcome to Sim-V  Great idea, and as you said its a bit jaggy. note you can have an image of 100 kb and you compressed that down to 20kb  thats WAY to much. Check out the Studio-V (one forum down) and look at the posts there.

Also i hate to tell ya but your not allowed to enter in this months comp beacuse you registered with the forum to late. However you are more then welcome to enter in the next months competition  ;D ;D ;D

Hi Griff! Welcome to the V!

You have a really nice shot there, but I have to agree with BAW ... unfortunately you're not eligible to enter. I suggest you read The Rules first and then sign The Oath.

As for Tips 'n Trick, I too would like to point you to Studio V. In there you can find out all kinds of cool stuff on how to take good shots, create interesting angles and what software is available to do so ...

Better and Good luck next time!

Hey Griff.

As above I'm afraid re the eligibility. Nice shot though. Paint is a bit of a killer for screenshots. Irfanview (Google it) is a nice tool for compression. Open the shot in the program, press CTRL+R and you can select 800 pixels wide automatically and it usually comes out ok. With larger shots you may find that this takes you just over the 100kb limit but its easy to manually reduce the size until its within the limit.

There are many other programs to try too. Use the time before the next contest to have a play with them. Am sure we'll see some great shots off you in the future :)

Well done ;)
