Central command in Berlin ordered these poor souls to fly into the East-front to deliver supplies to the troops on site... no-one told them to expect this awfull weather!

The pilot carefully lowers his plane into the thick cloudlayer... this isn't going to be easy...
When all of the sudden the visibilty goes down to zero! Snowstorms all around... The troops become very silent...
Not a minute to soon, the cloudcover breaks and glipses of the ground are seen... almost there...
A couple of tense seconds before they clear the trees and land in the fields behind...
The supplies were delivered and the plane left in a hurry... for the young soldiers it left behind, a long Russian winter awaited... none would return to safety...
