DH/108 "SWALLOW" ....

Postby lemoncat » Sat May 06, 2006 4:57 pm

this little british prototype has really made my day...along with the tsr2 ... bristol 188 amongst others,, take a very high ranking in my hanger,,i just love these wonderfull aircraft and i hope you will enjoy this sleek retro looking beauty too...no vc but good panel and fly's tickety boo.. :)
only three were ever built and all crashed,, unfotunately killing the pilots :'(  but these brave men paved the way into the future...and today we fly some of the most awesome machines ever built by man due to the bravery of these fine pilots ;)

you'll love it ;)

Interesting looking bird. Looks like a fighter style B-2 Bomber. Cool shots.

Great shots as usual Lemoncat.

That jet looks like something I'd love to arrive in at an airshow, so clean, what a great personal ride it would be!

I reckon a foot launched slope soarer along those lines would be a step in the right direction! Have to scale it down and move the canopy back so it's forming the forward part of the vertical stab, feet up in the nose, yeah, could be do-able!

This one would have been a contender in the Best of the Best "oddities and experimentals" category. Most interesting find Lemon.  :)

First jet aircraft to exceed the speed of sound, and the first to do it during a "conventional" flight (taking off from its own wheels, flying around as planes do, and landing normally (hopefully))...
