Valmet Vinka at Raahe

Postby krigl » Fri Mar 17, 2006 5:03 pm

Took this nice Finnish trainer (with VC :)) - another old news release I'm sure - up to have a look at Raahe in the snow.

Darn snow  >:(  ::)  8)

Used: similar stuff to the Deke post, with FinnIce to make the sea ice over..... couldn't make it look nice from close up, unfortunately, but it was landable.

Thanks for looking!

The ice water soubds great!

Could I ask where you found it? :)

Loving the pics Krigl...just one (stupid) question, in shot 1, is that ball-thingy a radar-like thing or a large snowball? ??? :D

Thanks, Spyro!

The FinnIce is from FSNordic, Finland region  :D It's not THAT great, but has a deinstaller for those moments when you don't feel like flying in Finland in the winter. Probably messes up your water textures though or something, make sure you are ready to re-install your favourite set.

The snowball is at Kauhava Airbase, where the Finns train their pilots in Vinkas. If I remember rightly.

Cheers

As far as I'm concerned...the Vinka never gets old!

By the way, does the radio crash FS for you too?

I've never seen this little trainer. Looks like a lot of fun to fly. I was looking at installing FinnIce, looks great.  :)

The Valmet was the first aircraft in FS2k2 to have real spin characteristics! We have her here and she is a joy to fly. I remember spending many hours stunting in her and taking in the beautiful Nordic scenery 8)

Thanks all! Yes, she does fly really well, not sure about the radio crashing the sim, didn't try it; I was listening to a CD at the time, and Finnish radio probably wouldn't sound too good over the top...

Cheers
