32 years, pretty good inings that eh? Still, the F18's cheaper, easier to use, easier to maintain, more flexable but, the Tomcat's still the Daddy!! 8)

im am soooo glad to see that old boy go!!!  its time to move on to better aircraft...the F/A-18 E/F is a step in the right direction but the JSF is gonna be perfect!

While the F-14 is and always will be one of my all-time favourite fighters, I do agree that it's time we moved on. The technology it uses is now far too old for it to be practical anymore. It's time we let the old girl rest, and pass on the throne to a new generation.

Nevertheless, the skies will miss her mighty roar. She'll not be soon forgotten.
