NRT-HKG-TPE 747-400s

Postby Triple_7 » Mon Mar 06, 2006 9:18 pm

Decided to catch up on my shots.  These were from last weekend :P

Climbing out of a hazy Tokyo bound for Hong Kong.
Image
Over flying Taipei, not todays destination unfortunatly.  Maybe tomorrow.
Image
Starting our decent.  Things are expected to be a little rough for our arrival...
Image
...and they werent joking.  Horrible turbulence as we turn for 7R final.
Image
Cleared for landing.
Image
Coming out of reverse.  Overnight here and off to Taipei in the morning.
Image

Waiting on that one last passenger...He had better hury...we are all ready for pushback and dont plan to wait much longer.  Todays weather is much better, expecting clear skys for this flight.
Image
Up and away.  Both old and new HKG are visible.
Image
Off the China coast and turning for Taiwan.
Image
Long final today.  Began decent a little early.  (Few more months and I will be somewhere over by the moutains in Chung-Li City for real 8) Might even be on this exact same flight!)
Image
Very smooth landing for such a nice day.
Image
The beast pulling up to the gate.  Not sure on my next destination.  Considering Bangkok, back to Tokyo, then off to Paris ;)

Interesting set.... do they really overfly Taipei on the way from Japan to Hong Kong? Can't visualise where Taiwan is right now...

I flew from hong kong to osaka on january, and actually, we took off from hong kong, did 1 turn left, flew right over taipei, and landed at osaka... quite simple a nav! same the other way, with 140kt headwind...

Thanks...

Posky is my choice for most aircraft right now.   All the 747s you could want here, and many more on Avisim.  http://www.projectopensky.com/downloads-index.php

As for Taipei...I tend to fly over it if my route allows me too :P  I think real world routes from Japan to Hong Kong do fly over.  Its pretty much in the path.  Keeps you off the coast for most pf your decent as well, lower noise levels on the ground ;)

Thanks TheBrelon and Triple7, I guess a quick look at the atlas could have told me that... forgot how close Taiwan is to the Chinese mainland... ::)
