Words fail me. Simply the most awesome photoreal freeware release ever.

Project Canarias.

On Avsim for the moment, soon to be on the V I'm sure...

I don't normally apologise for compression, but I had to save most of these on 50% or less, the detail is so incredible.

Some problems, but at least 3 of the Canary Islands group (yes that's right... there are the whole group of thse massive islands modelled and photoreal!) are almost totally without problems, not had time to explore much further....

...see the second set for more

I saw this yesterday afternoon at flightsim(along with a nice 380 & 330 panels ;)). Good lord thats alot of scenery! 3 seperate files at almost or at 94MB each I think? I'm pretty much sold on the idea of getting it (I look to you sim V vets and your screenies before getting most of my stuff ;)) now that I've seen some stunning shots!! :o How long did it take to D/L all of it ???. I'm running cable myself. Good stuff man!!

Thanks!

Attention: BORING WAFFLE :D: I've been having problems with Avsim (check of course that it isn't here yet before you visit that den of fetid evil) in that I can't get the download buttons to appear, I get the 'page not found' page... but pressing ctrl and trying again and again I eventually got the buttons to work.

Then, the download occurred at about 7kb/s, which is ridiculous, normally it's more like 40 at Avsim (why I'm paying for 10 or 20 times faster speeds than that I'm not sure, FSNordic are much faster...)

You can download 2 files at once without using a DL manager, probably you know this already, but even so it took about 4 hours for the biggest file. Hope that doesn't happen again, wonder if it was them or my comp.

It takes 20 minutes for the self-installer to work! Then many of the airports in my sim were in 'problem areas' with grey colourless mesh and straight coastline edges and I thought it hadn't worked. But then I moved the plane in the map screen or in slew to other islands and saw all the glorious detail.... :o :o :o worth it in the end!

cheers

Krigl

Photoreal yeah. Terrible ::) :-/ How could they.

Look at the last pic above. Shows how it looks close up. Better than default, that's for sure. The mesh is 19.1 m on 3 islands.... :o

Check out two new sets in Payware if you like.... :D

AVSIM does seem to be having some problems recently.

Must say, the Isle of Dogs I know looks nothing like that!

No problems mate, glad to be of service!

:D I know what you mean...

The Canary Islands get their name from the (Latin - I think) word for dog. I'm so chest-burstingly proud I found that out
