Learjet in Red.

Postby Lazerbeak » Tue Jan 31, 2006 11:32 pm

Some of you may be thinking that the Lear in the following shots is painted for the upcoming SimV race, and indeed it looks that way. I'm not actually competing in the race, but after looking at all the custom race repaints everyone did, I felt a bit inspired to create my own custom Lear, with a sporty racing touch to it. I thought it might look good in red, and if I do say so myself, I think it looks quite classy. 8)

These shots are of a short outing I had in my very own "Lady in Red".

My chariot awaits at the gate.

As I taxied to the runway, I noticed that Logan was a little... empty. I suppose I should probably install some AI...

It was a beautiful day out, perfect for flying.

After flying about aimlessly for a while, I looked around for an airstrip. I chose this small airport outside of Boston.
Image
It was a great landing, right on the centreline. Although I did roll a bit off centre, it was still a smooth landing.

Parked, engines off, and ready for a late lunch in the pilots' lounge.

So there's my shots. Not my best ones, but I pretty much just wanted to show off my shiny new toy. ;D

Glad you all like the shots, and the paint job! The Ferrari-esque scheme really fits me well, considering I'm half Italian, and share the same first name as the company's founder.

I did think about entering the race, but being unexperienced in race flying (and in flying the Lear itself) I was afraid I would end up humiliating myself. :P

Wow, you make us sound like professionals!  We're actually just a bunch of guys who like to fly around, no special skills needed.  Just tag along and have fun flying in a group, it's a blast.

I don't think anyone here is an expert with the Lear, are they?  I've got less than 20 mins on it so far.

I'm with you there, I was just flying it before and it's a tricky little devil. ;D ;)

Also, nice repaint, it looks really great.  You really should enter the race, everyone is there just to have fun, as long as you can take-off, and hit the runway at a reasonably slow speed with the wheels down, you would do fine. ;D :)
