OK test flyed it...
The verdict: dumpster quality

FDE doesn't allow anything above M1.0, while the real one does M2.4 for dayly use
Gear retraction is dubious, the rotation is at the wrong moment (too early), according to the drawings i have

Nice one Ivan... I'll be looking forward to your perfect Mig-31 model in the spring then ;D

I hope you include a VC and a decent sound package...and don't forget the FDs.... ;)

Obvious modelling errors
#1 it is NOT a MiG-31M! the nose is of a pre-M MiG-31

Other model errors
- Winglets are too small
- Parachute thing is too short
- Where is the gunpod
- Tails are wrong, they are different on the inside and outside

Loadout
- While it might be able to carry the AMRAAMski, usually they have the huge Phoenix copy loaded instead.

Thanks Javier

You're right, It flies like sh!t but I'm only using this model to make screenshots so the flight dynamics are not my biggest concern :)

ok got a lesson in Mig Fighters! That 31 reminds me of the 25 Foxbat. It resembles its appearance alot.
Its only in your mind, strong mind, strong soul and nobody can take that from you!

Just as a complement...
This airplane was created by the Russians to repair the terrible performance of the Iraq's air force mig-25 front to the Iranian's air force f-14. These armed with phoenix.
Notice the similarity of the mig-31 with the f-14 regarding the loaded missiles in the womb...not shown in Ito's model thought.

Great quality in your shots Jero

My Results:

F-15 Eagle

You are an F-15. Your record in combat is spotless; you've never been defeated. You possess good looks, but are not flashy about it. You prefer to let your reputation do the talking

Hey Fitter. This is not exactly i think.... First flight of Mig-31 was on 30 June 1977. The Iran - Iraq war started on September 1980 to August 1988.

Please read:

http://www.testpilot.ru/russia/mikoyan/ ... ig31_e.htm

Cheers.

The Mig-31 was not used in the war between Iran and Iraq, but it was developed by the lessons learned due to the Mig-25 losses against the IAF's F-14 / Phoenix...

Main reason the MiG-31 was made was because the MiG-25P was too reliant on ground control. Nice to have over Moscow but useless in Chita or Sakhalin.

That's the reason they put the second seat in it and the enormous radar set.
With the weird two wheel main gear, it has unpaved runway capability which the MiG-25 doesn't have.

OK now something more about the specific aircraft modelled here.
The real '057' is an early production machine.
For the few photos that exist of it: there is nose tilt (watch the shadows)
It is darker than a MiG-31 usually is, even against a clear sky
Airshow pictures do show it with Amraamski and the centerline trapeze launcher removed, but that isn't a realistic loadout.

@fitter: the MiG-31M was made because the MLU upgrades didn't fit in it (radar grew 30 centimeters in size) whitout messing up the CG. And being a high supersonic aircraft, the CG limit is quite touchy

And for anyone that wants a soundset with it: search for Tu-154M sounds. It's the same D-30 but tweaked for supersonic performance
