My last shots...

Postby RollerBall » Mon Jan 23, 2006 7:18 am

....of the Spartan that is  ;)

I've tried to get some classic-looking shots of this classic aircraft. Don't know if I've really succeeded. Anyway, here they are.

I have to agree with gryshnak - it's not very photogenic and there aren't very many angles you can shoot from. But that's not the point. It's not about owning the real aircraft - I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to have one and only the guy who designed it could really love it for its looks.

What it is all about is the art of Milton Shupe. As a flying model it's unbeatable and IMO it's a work of art that is practically unsurpassable. Thank you Milton for your generosity to the flight sim community.

Cool shots.
About the photogenecity (if thats a word) you may have hit a point but all in all this thing is one of the most beautifully realised planes for fs, altogether.  :)

:)

Thanks for looking guys. Fitter and anyone else who doesn't have it yet, you must get it. IMO you're missing a lot. It has a beautifully realised VC and cabin and you can move into the back with F1View and still keep flying it by hand. But it's a plane I've already spent a lot of time flying from the outside in spot view because it's so stable and such a joy to fly manually.

Dunno about a VW - from the outside it's more like flying a motorbike. You just rev up and point it where you want to go. And as you wizz along you can admire the view at the same time.

Great  ;D

Thanks krigl. You will love it. And there are already some great repaints out there. I picked up a lovely bright yellow and a super bare metal and red.....but I can't show em as these were my last shots  ;)

Ah well...give someone else a chance. I'll be the first to look as it's suuuuuch a nice plane.

Off to beddie-byes now I guess .... but first have to walk the hound.

Night all. See ya tomorrow I hope.

I've seen a ton of repaints, had my eye on the yellow one and some others, got to get my greasy mitts on that :)

Only problem is, it's been overposted a bit... hmmm... maybe with an "I'm mad, me" storyline?.... :D

I suppose I could just fly it and not take any pics....

...but why?

Hi Roger...
Lovely old plane from Milton...
...but...
I just can't get used to the "old" radios for ATC and Navigation... :'(...!
(...cant see the numbers on the dials!..)
So....
I've also got the "other" Spartan from SimV with the modern Bendix-King radio installation... 8)...!
...much simpler...LOL...!

Cheers...!

Paul... 8)...!
