RAF Pilot Training - Part 1:Grob Tutor

Postby F3Hadlow » Wed Jan 04, 2006 7:38 pm

Just doing a small screenie log of a typical RAF pilot training schedule. This is the elementary flight training in a Grob Tutor T1 out of RAF Leeming, North Yorks from the Northumbria UAS over Cumbria....

I was always a bit wary of plastic planes until I flew the Cirrus SR 20. Now my mind is permanently changed. The RAF did a wise thing with the Grob and contracted out the Air experience flights and the UAS flying. I'm sure it's a great success. Had more fun with the Chippy tho. Good shots there and a great line at Leeming. Have the scenery but not the AI.

Cirrus' aren't that great of planes...SR 22 crashed here few weeks ago killed all three onboard, cold weather braught it down, parachute didnt deploy until the aircraft hit the ground....brand new aircraft also...dont trust them

Charlie you lucky...  ;D
Great sets of shots F3, the scenery and aircraft are superb and the idea is excellent.  :) ;)
Maybe the future will see me doing one of these for Belgium! :)
