Humanitarian aid...

Postby Omag 2.0 » Mon Jan 02, 2006 2:49 pm

At least that's the idea... due to severe weather, Ostend airport was closed 2 days ago. The incomming UN flight to load badly needed supplies for Pakistan, had to be deverted to Schiphol Amsterdam. Today the weather was a lot better, so the last small jump was made...

Our Ilyushin 76TD rushes head into the wind...

Image

Vr reached and the earth drops down below us...

Image

Already over the Northsea, turning toward our flightroute...

Image

Mighty as they are, these Russian birds aren't exactly the cleanest around...

Image

Crossing the boarder into Belgium... decending towards EBOS...

Image

A spotters field day as we go over the ILS-array...

Image

Down and pulling open all registers to halt this beast...

Image

And so the packing can begin... we won't stay long... these supplies should have been in Pakistan already!

Image

Cheers,

Omag

Beautiful, as always. :)
But isnt it "humanitarian" aid?

Nice shots and nice story. A good excuse for not making a humongously long flight to Pakistan ;)
Where's the challenge in landing with wheels?
