After grabbing a bite to eat, I headed over to Helipad 3 where the chopper for the Heli Tours was waiting. I approached the heli, and immediately knew that it was a beautiful Bell 412. I quickly walked over and climbed in.

We took off and headed towards downtown Honolulu.

I had never been here before. I didnt expect much, as Hawaii is pretty Isolated and all you ever see on TV are volcanos and wonderful scenery. Boy was I wrong. As I gazed out my window, I saw many wonderful buildings. It was great! I had never fully appreciated the beauty of urban environments until this moment

I couldnt help but think how great it must be to work high up in those office buildings. You can lean back in your chair and gaze upon the mighty pacific, watching planes flyby and boats float out to sea or into port.
We then turned away, and headed down the coasts. There we were met with wonderful scenery of beautiful cliffs. I only wished I had been here for the dawn flight, it must be great when the morning sun shines its rays on these cliffs

Everything was great, but suddenly:

The weather worsened. The winds howeled, thunder clapped in the distance. The chopper was rocking about. We all knew we needed to head back to the airfield, and the pilot turned in its direction. Ominous black clouds loomed overhead

When we got back, the weather was better. It was clear that we had encountered a moving front, so we only had a little window to land before the weather reached the airfield. Luckily, we had enough time for the pilot to slow down as we passed over the USS Arizona Memorial. We were awe struck. It seemed as if all of us, including the helicopter, took a moment of silence to honor the fallen sailors

I headed inside the DC-3 to take a nap. I took a quick nap, then went to grab a bite to eat and wait for weather reports for my flight to Molokai....
