Landing an F-14 on 300 feet of RWY

Postby yaarpanjabi » Sun Dec 25, 2005 3:42 am

Hi guys, I was browsing through Airliners.net and saw this airport (Leh - VILH in northern India). So I decided to take a flight there. There I saw one of the smallest runways in the world, RWY 25 is 700 feet long. So I tried to land the F-14 on the runway, and here's the result:

It would be great if you guys try the same thing and post some shots as well . . .

Cheers!

Ahhh, you cheated a little there! That F-14 has spoilers specifically made for stopping on carriers. It simulates a huge amount of drag, bringing you to a stop within feet. ;)

Nice shots but i'd have been more impressed if you'd done it without the spoiler/arestahook engaged.  ;)

any aircraft can do that with a slight adjustment to its cfg's airbrakes calibration. That f14 has super airbrakes that will bring the plane from 230 knots - 0 knots in one second (intended for carrier landings)  ::) Nothing special there.
Its only in your mind, strong mind, strong soul and nobody can take that from you!
