Blackbird.

Postby gijake » Tue Dec 20, 2005 7:36 pm

I desided to do another spy plane set. This time, I went with the newer Blackbird.  Tell me what you think, I'm kinda new at this.

As we approached the airbase, I kept a close eye on the radar for SAMs.

We made it to the base without any contacts. Those Reds had no idea we were right above them.  I told the navigator to snap the shots quick to we could get out of there.

From what we heard, they were testing some kind of intercepter. Great. Just what an unarmed spyplane needs.
After he took the pictures, I saw some movement on the radar screen and turned the bird around has quick as you can when flying at Mach 2.9.
At last! out of the USSR and into west Germany!
Image
The drag shute opened correctly and we came to a screeching halt.
We puled into the hanger and the techs took the flim out and hurried to get it developed.  Two hours later, Me and the navigator saw the film.  We had no idea how close we to getting shot down:  Image
