I think you did an excellent job. It's a winner in my book.

The man wants an honest opinion... ;D!

Cut and dry this is not a bad job at all. Everything meshes together smoothly. But the textures seem a little blurry and not too sharp. If it is not that the texture being blurry, the textures need a little more color to it to make it look sharper instead of slightly blurry.

Other then that it is a very well done project!

I was thinking just that. I used Photoshop CS, and the "Sharpen Image" tool, in dire hope that they would be sharper, but unfortunately, this didn't work. Is there any other way to shapen up the textures? :)

I'm not much into helicopters but I'd say your repaint is pretty good.  :)

It's not bad for a first try but as was said the textures look blurred...

I would listen to the advice here and check out the repainting forum here on Simv and see what other tips you can acquire...Then, work on it some more and post more shots later...and so on until it looks as close to perfect as you can get it...

I personally wouldn't upload something I wasn't totally happy with.... you probably know what its like to download something that turns out to be pants.... ;)

ps. I can't repaint anything, even my kitchen... ;D I'm impressed by people who can...keep at it, I'm sure it's rewarding..

Much depends on the resolution of the bitmap file you changed and your fs settings and the model.  (how much is the texture stretched over the model)

I must say this repaint looks pretty good :)

Very Nice for a first! :)
I once painted an SN Brussels A330, the detail was there but it was blurry like yours and mine wasnt properly reflective anymore....
I figured it must have been something with "Alpha Channels" and "Targa" files, but I just gave up at that point, went on to make my first gmax model, but again got stuck at the texturing, so left that too...  ;D
