Maybe I can help....
Do you have a program called Irfanview? It is really helpful for dealing with screenshots.
Also, maybe turning on AA (Anti-Aliasing) may help. AA helps get rid of those jagged edges. To do so (I have windows XP), do the following:-

Start => Control Panel => Settings => Advanced
Then find your graphics card (in my case GeForce FX Go5200) and find your tab which governs performance and quality settins, and find something to do with Anti-Aliasing. Voila!!  ;D
