'Let's go snowboarding'

Postby erp001 » Fri Nov 11, 2005 4:54 am

they said. 'And where do you want to do that?', I asked. In the mountains of Nepal, was the answer.

So here we are. On the runway of Lukla airport in Nepal. It's snowing, it's mighty cold, but hey... we want to go snowboarding.

Take off and it's getting worse. There is a strong wind and it's difficult to keep things up.

Luckily the weather cleared soon and things got better. We were all in a good mood and enjoying the views.

There is the airfield we wanted to go. Nice slopes to go downhill and a fine restaurant with it.
Image

The landing was a bit to rough, the nosewheel collapsed. We all came out without any damage and we still had a great day.

Hope you liked them,

Easy Flyer.

Super shots and a very nice background story. Like the plane too, haven't seen that one.

Hmm the landing seems to have been a bit rough but at least the snow absorbed the impact ;D

Nice. Is it just me, or does Lukla remind anyone else of 007 Goldeneye, with the cliff at its back and the huge dropoff at the end of the runway?

I tried landing a C-17 Globemaster (fuggetaboutit) there.

I see you also have the mesh that goes with that.

I did manage to land the PDMG King Air there though.
