Test Flying a New Favorite!

Postby Rocket_Bird » Sun Oct 23, 2005 1:20 am

Today I bought myself a copy of Private Pilot magazine while at the drug store, and in it featured some really interesting general aviation aircraft.  One particular aircraft that caught my eye was the SR20 Cirrus.  So I decided to look around for a model.  One model was made by Eaglesoft, and it was payware.  Held out for a bit, and searched around for perhaps a freeware SR20, and wow, was I impressed!  Its one of those models which I believe could have definately been payware but is free!  Some of you probably seen it before, didn't seem as popular of an aircraft around the flight sim community as I thought it would be though ;D

Here I am, sitting on the ramp in Munich, Germany.

Taxing to the active runway.  This plane is a bit tough to taxi at first, have to use differential braking to get it around the corners, but its just like the 172 I fly in real life, so its modelled Very Nicely!

Doing a crosswind takeoff.  Perhaps I should have done it with no flaps  :o

Yep, this thing has tons of GPS on the instrument panel, and a huge LCD display, just like the real thing.  This model also keeps the older needle gauges, which is great to my liking, as I can't stand too much LCD or EFIS displays  :-/ ;D

Lose the engine?  No problem!

I cheated a little bit, FS lets me retract the chute, so I just started up my engine and went to land.  Feels great on landing too.  Crosswind landing...

All in all, im one happy pilot  :P  This bird won't be leaving my hanger anytime soon  ;D
Cheers,
RB

Nice little kite! Don't you just love it when you find something like that. Don't forget to thank the designer in our Designer Feedback forum ;)

I know it's here on SimV, http://www.simviation.com/fs2004props55.htm

But I don't know if that's the version with the chute...

I think that one can be found on other sites...

Pete...please correct me if I'm wrong.
My first flight in a 172 on August 20, 2004

Hey Rocket Bird, are those RealityXP gauges that you put into the virtual? The 2 lower GPSes?
Oh and nice shots!

Nope, no reality xp, just custom made garmin 430s (by a guy named Don according to the manual), and a garmin GTX330 transponder made by the same guy :)
