Braving the Rain

Postby Rocket_Bird » Sat Oct 15, 2005 12:45 pm

Gonna do a short hop from CYLW - CYYF today.
Just finishing preflights on the Cessna 172P.  A WestJet 732 crosses by in the back and gives a wave.

Taxing to runway 16 (or is it 15 now?)

Lifting into a shower, not the smartest day to fly  ;)
Image

Little bit of rain... little bit of carb heat... hardly any visibility beyond the rain  :o
Image

Just gotta look at my side window and follow the shore to my destination.
Image

Great!  Weather clears up on final.
Image

And flare!  Think I can hear the stall warning on this thing just like the real bird... if not it was probably just the squeel on my force feed back joystick  ;)

For the past couple of days, ive been trying to upgrade as many graphical aspects of FS9 on this low end machine as I could as freeware permits.  After downloading endless amounts of textures, light effects, clouds, and even ground relective effects, think I got a happy medium.  Sorry about the quality of the shots, compression took a bit of a toll  :)
Cheers,
RB

Wow... scary flight eh? But look on the bright side... you don't have to wash the bird this weekend! lol

I'd say your shots look pretty decent. No apologies about the quality needed!

Very nice rainy pics, I like the atmosphere, I can really imagine the rain drumming the windshield and the plane being buffeted about....

Thanks  ;)  Yep I use PAI and that is indeed the bluesphere rain effect.
