BFU North V 737-400....

Postby cspyro21 » Thu Oct 13, 2005 1:32 am

I was browsing the BFU (Bush FLying Unlimited) site to find a nice bit of scenery for the screenshot contest, when I found BFU North. I thought that this would be the perfect place, and then I saw the text that says '...legend has it a 737 landed here...'

Time to prove that!

Image
On a final approach. I found this was almost like a carrier landing, as I kept turning on the final.

Image
Touchdown. I'm thinking whether this is going to work; last attempt I had to go-around. This time, I used parking brakes instead of normal brakes. Time to say goodbye to tires!!

Image
Nearly at the end of the runway....note my speed.....stop, damn you.....stop........

Image
Passing a little shed.......this is going to be close.....

Image
The end of the runway loomed closer....I was sure I would overshoot, but there wasnt enough runway for a go-around......! 52KIAS left.....

Image
My god.....I've stopped.........with lenght to park another 737 in front of me!!!!! I dont beleive it!!!!

Thanks for looking!  ;D
P.S Next, I'll try it in a 747!!!

Hahaha this one is really fun !
I have to test those BFU sceneries, but I can't find the courage to download them one by one... isn't there a scenery pack to download them all at a time ?

I don't know about that but I'd imagine it would say on their website. I wondered that about Project AI, why you had to download every one seperately, such a nightmare, it made me literally physically sick at one point. Then I figured it out. Their one-shot download is called....Ultimate Traffic. Aha.

Cheers people!

By the way Daube, there isn't a scenery pack, but underneath the airstrip download it gives you all the links you need. If you have a system better than mine (which is ok, I suppose) then the downloads are rather quick and worth it.
Daubr,I would download them, I felt like you at one stage but then my motto came into my head:

"If you're unsure, do it."

I suppose youre based at BFU north? If so, I'm trying to take off, but it never works, so my 737 is staying here for the night.
Cheers my friend  ;)

Nice work, but...

full manual breaking is actually stronger (and safer! :o) than the parking brake ;)

Fireworks??
Put them away.
I'm sure that me crashing a 737 at Hanks is going to be enough fireworks for you. ;D ;D

Beefhole - I never knew that!! I must go and retry using normal brake.

P.S. I've tried to land a 744 there - no success. I've always overshot the runway...  :(
