It was a Navy SAR helicopter base, now closed but still used by the Coastguard I believe. The only fixed wing aircraft that I know has landed there was a Sea Harrier (in modern times anyway).
Also a good ship base, still remember after the hurricane we had, a battleship or something simmilar that was carried over the causeway joining the island to the mainland, it smashed through a small cafe there. took a while to clear after that.

By the way, is that a default airstrip? If not, where can I find it?

LOL cspyro, you can't live more than 150 miles away from it in real life, I thought you would've flown around 'our neck of the woods' a little bit. The code is EGDP.

I honestly dont ever remember seeing that in the time i lived there. However if you look closely you can see it isn't active as the X's show it is a closed runway.

Good to see you back at the 'V' Gnatman, where have you been old stick??

Cheers,

TSC.

Hey TSC, had a few sim troubles, which then 'blossomed' into system troubles...turns out my sister picked up a virus for me...
2 months, 3 reformats & 1 HD later and my system is sim-shape again! ;D!

Cheers,
Carl
