New video card

Postby cableguy » Thu Oct 06, 2005 10:54 am

I have just installed the top of the line Radeon video card, X850XT Platinum Edition, and added 1 GB of RAM, so i have 2GBs now.  Just testing my video card and how it performs in FS9, I am finally able to max out all the settings!!  :) :o

Here are a few shots, no story though, just shots, tell me what you think...

You should tweak your FS alot....it's still doing it's best in the screenshots....I know the FPS must be all smooth, but I am also still tweaking FS every now and then and then testing it out...and my shots are also starting to look better....but yeah, nice shots....and try to get another len's flare....I hate that one ;D ;)

I have been hearing about FS Skyworld from many people, what is that and how do i get it??

BTW, thanks for replies, i'll definately try and get more stuff for FS do make it look better.  As I said before not only FS settings are maxed out, my video card settings are maxed out too, like x6 AA, x8 Filtering, and stuff like that.

1) Turn off lens flare.
2) More Anisotropic Filtering.
3) Better water (morewatr.zip or so).
4) Improve groundtextures.

FS Sky World is a 3rd party program that enhances your flight environment. It's freeware and you have many options of changing many things such as daytime, nighttime, dusk, dawn textures. There are many combinations and it includes different textures for cumulus, cirrus etc clouds. Since it's freeware, look for it on Avsim.com...just search for for FSSkyWorld 2004...and don't forget to install the update...as it fixes some minor errors ;)

Not bad, but you need better water textures. I've seen those around a bit lately, but in my opinion they look like liquid plastic, not very realistic
