'Hunt for the straggler'

Postby edzmen » Wed Oct 05, 2005 11:48 am

A RAF Nimrod MR.2 of 120 Squadron based at RAF Kinloss, Moray, pictured during a challenging Search and Rescue [SAR] mission over the icy waters of the stormy North Atlantic, late at night:-

The Nimrod crew were tasked to locate a 'downed' Tornado F3 crew, who were forced to eject from their aircraft on return from a practice intercept due to catastrophic engine failure.
After 3 hours searching the suspected location of the downed Tornado, the Nimrod crew finally located the position of the two pilots and a Royal Navy Sea King was vectored to their location to winch them out of the freezing water.

The Nimrod then headed home to Kinloss.
Another job well done thanks to the brilliant skill of the men & women of 120 & 201 Squadrons! :)

Very nice! Though the smoke is looking a little black ;) I prefer the smoke that comes with the Nimrod

Ah! It's the 4th and 5th screenshots where it looks really dark, perhaps it's just built up a lot... :P
