1.)
My test flight (following a careful pre-flight) went badly wrong, someone had thoughtlessly left some trees at the end of the runway and my port wing brushed them, all the controls still seemed ok so I continued the test flight.
2.)
There are some serious roads in this part of the world, this one beats the Hardknott pass hands down!
3.)
A beautiful view, but a strong smell of Avgas, Something is wrong!
4.)
Oh no!!!, a bit of a fuel shortage. All hands to the life boats, women and children last first.
5.)
A quick check of the map shows that I'm spoilt for choice when it comes to emergency strips, no radio on board so I'll touch down and hope.
6.)
Short final, too low and the bank is increasing. She handles like a pig below 100 KIAS! I touched down safely, new underwear is required and a bit of a patch up. It seems that I ripped a hole in the port tank when I had the argument with the tree.... Very foolish.
7.)
Now all I have to do is get her back to the UK in one piece, should be a challenge!
