Gdansk: Treasured Res.Evil moments

Postby krigl » Mon Sep 26, 2005 3:59 pm

Back at flight school pt.2.... today I practiced....Turning.
Here's a Polish C172 heading over the green grass of N.Poland for Gdansk and a spot of 360 madness...

Image

With my new Saitek stick everything makes me feel like I'm inside the head of an air-guitaring headbanging metal fan filmed in slow motion... well, actually not quite but... up, down, up, down....guess I need to fix the sensitivities.... or my head.

Image

Over Gdansk the fog came roiling in and soon the streets were crawling with zombies.

Image

It brought back pleasant memories of playing Resident Evil back in the day.

Image

As if reading my mind, my instructor Wotjech (My son's name, but in Polish.... :) I can hardly wait till he gets old enough to hear I named him after the permantently sunglassed Polish dictator) pulled out a grenade launcher and started launching incendiaries onto the streets of Raccoon City. I mean, Gdansk.

Image

It's....blood. I hope it's not....Chris's blood.

Image

Up the steps, one by one, scrolling.... clunk, clunk, clunk. Carefully rotate. AAaagh, what is that thing. No, I've run into a wall. No, I can't turn, I'm stuck!!! Panic! No, the camera! Where am I? Not again, sink to floor, get eaten....

Image

When I came across that first zombie in the game I was so scared it took me about 10 tries to kill it before I realised that with a knife I had no chance... and ran away.

Image

And those things that ran across the ceiling, first view of those outside side the window made my blood run cold. Literally, my wife had to heat me up in the bath.

Image

And those dogs, the first time they came leaping through the window.....

Later of course I was mowing the beggars down like no tomorrow, but those aren't the moments I treasure.

Classic game, classic plane...

Thanks for looking :)

Now that's entertainment! Beautiful scenery, Polish dictators, head bangers, outdated video games...you didn't miss a thing...you're quite the romantic Krigl... ;)

Thanks, Clipper, and for your other post too... (I left it unanswered despite the cool pic in the hope of attracting attention "Wow, Clipper posted, let's take a look" ) :) I know, it's a low tactic but hey... you the man (brown-nosing AGAIN when will it end)

I know, romance is my defnitely strong suit, the evenings my wife spent with me locked in one room in a sweaty 90% humidity chinese flat in Siingapore with books on the window grid to stop the aircon from vibrating so much, watching me blast the undead to atoms with an assault rifle.... will last forever in my mind.... :)

She's probably forgotten of course, women never remember things like that.

Lucky for you.... with a scenario like that you'd have made such an attractive package....I'd love to know what her fixations are...

I'm flying down, we've got to go for a beer!
