Kai Tak Approach

Postby Ecko » Tue Sep 13, 2005 9:33 am

Hey guys! :)

Originally, I thought of using my newly found Kai Tak scenery for the contest, but then again, is Kai Tak a landmark? I wouldnt say so.

But I took some shots anyway... :)

I just love flying that approach manually, it's so great! The FPS though isnt! I have a pretty neat machine, and I only got 7-9 FPS, when facing the scenery.

Anyway, the shots!

Very cool indeed! Your shots capture the difficulty of getting a plane with such weight, speed, size, momentum, down on that runway without ploughing into the many (inhabited) obstacles all around often with a nice crosswind..

That hibiscus is just begging to be used there... shame it never got to happen due to the locals' strange desire to build somewhere a bit safer, took all the fun out of flying to HK they did. I imagine a lot of pilots were hopping mad when Chek Lap Kok opened. ;D
