Pyramid Power...less

Postby Clipper » Mon Sep 12, 2005 7:36 pm

Well, after some deliberation, I decided to go for the pyramids in this month's contest. Until I got there that is. I hope I'm not alone in finding them totally unrealistic and hopelessly non photogenic. Time to find something else..... :)

If the topic were only Egyptian Christmas tree decorations....

The only way to make the pyramids somewhat realistic is to position them so far back you can barely make them out...

Anyone know of an Egypt scenery add-on?

I don't know of any add-ons for Egypt, but I have to say that those two shots are great.  While the backround isn't great in the first one, and thats in no way your fault  ;), the Jenny is very detailed, and when there is less detail in the second one than the first, the view and perspective are great!  I do like the second one, and I don't think many people would enter a picture with little detail in the "famous place."  :)  Just my five cents.

Cheers Clip.  ;D

Thanks for your 2 cents sock. I agree, I'd be very reluctant to show that little of a landmark or monument in this month's comp.

Hi Clipper,

I used them in this months competition. The moment I took the shot, I liked them very much but the more I look at it, the uglier they become.

The only scenery I could ever find for Egypt is some landclass and terrainmesh.

Great shots of the Jenny though, very detailed.

Crash ;)

Great shots of the plane, and you're right, the pyramids do look a little bit HIDEOUS close up.

I don't like complaining about MS, the product is fantastic, but if they are going to include world landmarks (and more would be nice, I think most capitals should have at least something there to show that you "really" are over say, Brussels and not just anywhere) then they should have put a bit more effort into them....

That's a riot. I just spent a couple of hours there looking for angles. It's nice, but the reality factor again...

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I'll keep working at it..after all, that's the most enjoyable part of the comp!  :)
