RTW Flight - Leg 05

Postby Katahu » Thu Sep 08, 2005 9:23 pm

Taking off once again from Ciudad Del Carmen.

Beautiful day and the weather looks nice in Southern Mexico. Right now, I'm listening to Mexican music. ;D

Getting dark again. Time to get ready.

This doesn't look good.

Ahhkkk!!!!!! D-am that was close.

Finally arrived to Chetumal Int'l Airport. Still in Mexico, but the airport is clearly right next to the southeastern border.
Image

Parked, engines off, electronics off, time to find a hotel and hit the sack.

EDIT: You might not have noticed it before, but I have just completed a full trip around the Gulf of Mexico. ;D

Maybe the P-38 Lightning gives the user an odd ability to capture lightning in FS2004  ;) ;D ;D

Good shots... and a question: are you filing/flying IFR on these legs or just going for it? Just curious...
And are you getting any extra range from the wing tanks, or are they just for show? I have that P38 but haven't done much with it except horse around...

The tanks seem to help a lot. I am just basically flying for it. No IFR. Just the GPS is used to see where I'm at.

As for the tanks, I think they are just for show because I was just checking out the fuel load in the Main Menu and load seems to be the same for both tank and no-tank models. However, the plane does take me very far. It's only been 5 legs and I have already completed an entire trip around the Gulf of Mexico.

I have made absolutely NO modification whatsoever to the aircraft. My leg are measured by how far the plane can fly in FS with the fuel that it currently has.

I use current real-world weather from Weather Maker Pro and I fly with real-time hours. However, changing the hours to the local time is getting difficult as I travel from time zone to time zone.

Sorry if I havent't posted any new pics because I just had a busy work day on Friday and I didn't have the energy to start my sixth leg. I will begin the sixth leg later on in the after noon.
