Well, if they're real...I'll be getting it (And hoping it won't bring my system to its knees)...

Probably wait until it's been out a bit though...

Water reflections:

These are NOT shots from FS10 .......... I posted a month or so ago, just after the the Flightsim Convention in Blackpool about what may or may not be in FS10. These shots are from the M$ presentation and are developments of  FS9 using current hardware (so M$ say).
The shots should not have left the room but hey ho someones got away with them  ;)

I do believe it is possible that M$ -MIGHT- be working on making wet runway reflections for FSX. However, I doubt that they are even working on the building reflections on the water because of one thing:

In order to make building reflections on the water, you need to have seperate building models that are identical in appears but are just simply INVERTED and can be seen though a semi tranparent SURFACE layer of water with a solid OCEAN floor layer beneath it. The Top layer having some sort of channel for the sky reflection that we currently see in FS9.

But that is my theory.

I think the problem will be that the computer required to run it will be along the lines of a cray...:(

Ever seen NFS:Underground 2 for PC?  Full dynamic reflections, on the cars AND the roads, at high FPS on my mid-range comp (specs in sig).  Guild Wars, FarCry, and SW Battlefront have them, too, to mention a few that I've played.  It can be done, modern-day GPUs have reached that level.  Why not do it in FS?

I doubt those are real FS10 shots, but I wouldn't be surprised if FS10 does end up looking that good.  A shame, tho.  MY comp barely handles FS9!

--  It was suggested that FS10 is at least two years away due to the possibility that the software will probably be ready in one year, but hardware to support the software won't be up to speed for two years.

That's humbug. Even games like Half-Life 2, Doom 3 or Stalker don't use all the possibilities and resources of up-to-date hardware.
Software is always lagging behind hardware.

- Edit: According to this thread, the screenshots are tests based on the FS9 engine, so nothing exciting.
