I'm so high....

Postby Carlo » Tue Aug 30, 2005 1:37 pm

I was just trying to get at 99.999 feet as fast as possible. The time was around 1300 hours so it should be bright daylight. Did I cross the border to space or what?

It's just like in real life: the higher you get, the darker the sky. Cool shot.

How did you manage to get enough thrust to get up there?

Most of my planes run out of juice and spin out of control around 65,000ft.  ::)
And im not sure thats accurate for an EE Lightning!!

G'Day Sir Crashalot

Well I had the same thing, but I was zipping along in my SR71 Blackbird. I was up at 99,700ft at about 4.2mach when i took my picture (sitting on this forum under glennos goodies) while mucking about for the screenshot contest.

It's not possible to cross the border. In fact, you can sort of run right into it. I've been up that high only once in the XB-70.
