Alaska to the Caribbean

Postby TSC. » Tue Aug 23, 2005 4:02 am

Here is the entire series just incase anybody else wants to have a peek:

Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4  Part 5  Part 6  Part 7  Part 8  Part 9  Part 10  Finale

Hi all,

I have just left Hanks Trading Post in Alaska & have started to make my way down the west coast, before proceeding through the southern states on my way to the BFU base in the Caribbean.

Everybody turned out to see me on my way from Hanks:

Just making our way down the coast from Hanks, Admiralty Island is just on my starboard side:

On my way to our first stop:

Which is Annette Island, an old WWII base & coastguard station:

Just lining up to land:

We'll stop here tonight, top up the tanks again in the morning & see where we end up:

I will be flying this tour 'online' at MSN Zone during the evenings* (GMT approx 8pm - 10pm) if anybody cares to join me on my way at anytime. There is no flight plan, I am just making my way south & seeing where I come too.

If anybody has any suggestions for some nice freeware scenery for the west coast of North America, I would be more than happy to install it (airports etc that I can stop at).

Cheers,

TSC.

*(Although I may not be there EVERY evening - just look for 'theysellcoke's game')

Hey tsunami!  Been a while, how are you doing?  :)

TSC, if you have Bill Lyons Piper Cub package it has a nice airport south of Seatle called Bear Lake I think, you'll know it if you have the package.  And there is one at the BFU website called Mustang Landing that is just north of Los Angles.

Thanks sock, I have the Piper Cub package, so i'll double check the airport (I didn't know about that one), & i'll have a look at BFU for 'Mustang landing'.

Thanks for the info.

Great set of shots, looking forward to seeing more! And it was very cool of you to post the link to the Annette Island info, adds a big extra to the post, when I fly with a purpose (not often) I like to find out about the places I'm visiting, it adds to the experience...

Looking for scenery?

Look for Holger Sandmann!  He makes some top-notch stuff!  What he puts out are must-have sceneries!

What's the server's IP address?

I'm just connecting direct through MSN Zone as I have trouble getting my stupid router to deal with the IP address thingy.

:D
