...repair your engine in flight.

Step 1: Hand over controls to your lovely copilot.

Step 2: Climb into the back and carefully open the door.

Step 3: Step down on to the float and carefully close the door.
Image

Step 4: Walk forward towards the engine, but be careful when stepping over the wing spar.

Step 5:  CAREFULLY open the engine cover

Step 6:  Make your repairs, close the engine cover, and carefully make your way back to the rear of the aircraft.

Step 7:  Carefully open the door, and climb in
Image

Step 8: Close the door.
Image

The Final Step: Climb back into your seat and resume control.

You never saw Never Cry Wolf did you?!

There's a scene where this bush pilot (flying an incredibly beat up Beaver) has his engine stop in mid-flight.  To start it, he has to open the door, lean out and bang on something while his terrified passenger is holding the yoke.

That's great! I'll remember this when I next lose no.4 on a 747.

Oh! Just a question... what do you do if the plane doesn't have floats? I don't think the 747 has.

...and by the way, I noticed you sustained some tail damage on takeoff - must have been a reef or a beaver or something - better get aft and check it out! ;D ;D
