Another short Alaska hop

Postby TSC. » Fri Aug 19, 2005 7:02 am

Hi all,

Got the day off work today after a stag night last night, so I thought I'd just have a quick hop in Alaska to clear my head.

Just collecting the Stinson at 'Geneer AK183' - a seaplane base used by bush pilots for refueling aswell:

Just topping up the tanks:

& away we go:

Another nice clear morning with a fresh breeze - just what the doctor ordered:

Lining up for my arrival at 'Geneer AK180':

A little off centre & just about to kiss the tarmac:

After a quick disembarck, we were off to find out who was in charge............of making the cups of tea:

Using 'AK180 v2.0 - Geneer AKR Stations A thru D' from Avsim as scenery & the Stinson Reliant. The 4 bases in the scenery are all located very near to Juneau Intl & Hanks Trading Post, which is nice..................

Cheers,

TSC.

Very nice set :)

Getting the scenery as I speak.

Only problem I can see is with all this publicity the area is gonna get over run with tourists. (Rumor has it that Gander Mountain, Applebee's and Starbucks are all doing market analysis in the area)

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Was in Pot O Gold last nite and the bartender, Jennifer (the one with the nice Hooters....ummm.....t-shirt)

My head is still recovering from last night - think I may well have been in the Pot o Gold at sometime - & your right, Jennifer has a lovely - t-shirt - I can never remember what her face looks like though.....................
