F-14 over California

So I decided to take my newly downloaded F-14 Tomcat for a spin today, and what better place than Edwards Air Force Base in California to do that? For the uninitiated, Edwards Air Force Base is also known as "Top Gun", where some of the best pilots compete amongst each other  :cool:

I think of the F-14 as one of the sexiest aircraft out there, and the following shots show why I think this is the case!

Top Gun was origionally based out of Miramar, Calif (now under USMC command).

Not to NAS Oceana?

Nope. Miramar. Fightertown, USA. It was NAS Miramar until 1 Oct 1997 when it became MCAS Miramar.

Edwards is used mainly as a testinng center for the Air Force, as well as a Shuttle Recovery location.

But...

Those are some nice shots of a beautiful aircraft and an outstanding FS9 model.

And Top Gun also took Marine aircraft and right now, at NAS Fallon, is under joint USN/USMC command right now.
