So here there are shots I took of the Mirage IV By Roland Laborie .
I summarize tou the specificxations of thei incredible aircraft which flown for the first time in 1961 :o

Mirage IV

Within the framework of the Suez crisis, France concluded that to have an independent policy, she must have an atomic bomb and its carrier - which will be an aircraft in the first place.

The Mirage IV 01 was an experimental prototype designed to discover the problems inherent in sustained supersonic flight. The general appearance of Mirage IV 01 was very like that of the Mirage III A with respect to its surface area, engine configuration and empty weight. Manufacture, at the Saint-Cloud factory, lasted 18 months. It left the factory at the end of 1958 for final adjustments at the Melun-Villaroche base before proceeding to flight tests.
Although its aerodynamic specifications were very similar to those of the Mirage III, its structure, layout and equipments demanded specific developments. Temperature differences during rapid acceleration or deceleration imposed constraints which had to be taken into account when determining the dimensions. The Snecma Atar 9 B jet engines

fastest bomber... fastest dedicated bomber
MiG-25 can do M2.6 with bombload... and they didnt try to streamline the things (just 4x plain FAB-500)
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

am i the only one who sees one key problem with that cockpit? the big thick bar running down a rather key view point, especially for un-guided bombs?
