A second chance...

Postby ATI_7500 » Wed Jun 08, 2005 10:17 am

...for Lock-On.

Out of the blue, I found a campaign for the german MiG-29, so I decided to give Lo-Mac a second chance. After some seious fiddling with the graphics settings and some mods and after having printed the seven-page-keychart I was ready for mission one.
Apart from being really dull (for the pilot at least), it contained a neat battle between two carrier groups.

Russian S-S missile about to hit a turkish Perry-class-frigate.

"Come on baby light my fire..."

The battle continues nonetheless. A steady exchange between tomahawks and the whole arsenal of russian maritime S-S missiles.

The second Perry desperately tries to intercept another SSM...

...but no luck there.

A SS-N-19 and a Tomahawk minding their business.

And just to stay on topic: My first LoMac landing in a long time.

Parked, secured, ready to go grabbing some coffee.

The sim runs pretty fine on my machine. With a screen res 1280*960, medium to high details and 2*AA/2*AF I get a good 20 FPS on the ground and 35-40 FPS while airborne.

P.S: Nonetheless, I'm still fed up because of the missing dynamic campaign. ;)

There's a cool add-on available for it, but it's $30, and mostly only adds the SU25T...

Either lockon.ru or combatace.com. But I think it's more thew latter than the former.

But this campaign seems to have this kind of 'stopper'-bug, which prevents you from continuing the campaign though you have completed the last misiion successfully.

I bought this a few weeks back but still can't get it to work right  ::) Key combinations don't work and the only thing my stick is good for is steering comands, none of the buttons work  >:(

That said its great for carrier ops off the Kuznetzov  ;D

anyone know where to get a refueling training mission for the US aircraft?

LOMAC is AWESOME.  I hated it when I tried the demo, but I took a chance and bought it quite a while after giving up on the demo.  I'm so glad I did.

You're going to lack a lot of the realism that we're used to with MSFS, but the graphics are great.  It's PERFECT for screenshots, and even better for multiplayer. ;)

Since the AI isn't that bright...yeah.

LOMAC is something between a 1990s version of SFP1 and Falcon 4, so half between fun and a serious sim.
