ARRG!!!! NOT AGAIN!!!!!

Postby Jakemaster » Sun Jun 05, 2005 9:39 pm

I am having trouble keeping this Yak-12 cool.  I really like the plane, but it heats to quickly!!!  Actually, I only accidentaly blew the engine once, the first was to see what it's like.

So, even though the cowl flaps are open AND in the blast of the prop, I thought maybe it was supposed to be water-cooled.

PS: Any hints to keeping it cool

PPS: This plane is oddly similar to a beaver ::)

Well, landing in the water should do it!

Otherwise make the mod that Rollerball suggested!

After you blow it, can it start again?

Not unless you re-load the aircraft...

:) ;) :D ;D

I didn't have any trouble at all concerning the heat!! Maybe cos Brasil has always high temps so we are used to open cowl vents and always stay tunned about this very matter, I took her for a flight and made several climbs using diferent climb rates and angles ( I even tested what IVAN said about the 600ft/min and desobey that - no problem at all!!!) - here what I do:
1. battery
2. avionics
3. cowl vents fully open
4. carbs
5. mid-reach mix
6. full prop
7. engine on
8. no closing the vents unless the temp drops dramatically

try this maybe will work 4U2.

cya!

PS.: try to land on ...errr...land  :-X (Just kidding!!!)
JUST ONE WORD: FREEWARE! The more free it is, the more shall I fly!
