So there was I, minding my own business...

... when all of a sudden I thought, 'what the heck's that'...

Image

Blimey - must be half of the Delta fleet, old and new liveries, landing on 8L at The Hartsfield.

As I watched most of them went missed but some landed, I guess when the runway was clear, and then a whole bunch landed at once.

Image

Most of them disappeared in a few seconds, maybe all I didn't notice as I decided to continue taxying.

But just a minute...

The same all over again on the parallel runway!

Funny, with all the AI I have installed (nothing duplicated mind) I always wondered why The Hartsfield always seemed to be a bit - well - empty. Now I know why!

Happens from time to time... funny in the dark... the lights make them look like a swarm of UFO's...

Dunno why it happens though...

:o

Weird eh?

I've seen pics other guys have posted with similar things and I'd always thought it was because they had somehow duplicated their PAI installs or something. Never happened to me before though until today.

But there's something not right about The Hartsfield, least in my copy. The apron and taxiways are very bumpy and I keep getting clouds of tyre smoke, like on landing, when I taxy. Also, after I'd landed, ATC told me to contact ground, which I did, but didn't get the 'taxy to gate' option. Only 'taxy for takeoff'. I'd landed in an AA 747 and switched to the Tristar to try to make ATC talk to me, which they did. Surely they can't be that pro Delta in Atlanta, can they?  :)

i posted something simmilar last year from hartsfield, did you have any that pulled up from the runway but because of the lack of speed ended up tail first into the end of the runway? Nice choice for main subject aircraft ;D
