You can download the model clicking here

I took this model up for a quick spin.

Here you can get a movie of me landing the MD-82 at Philly and my review and comments with more screeshots. Click here.

Here's a quick review.

Model: the external model is very nice. Well done with good attention to detail. The MD-80s have a slick and sexy streamlined shape so you can't go wrong there. They modeled it pretty well. One defect I might notice is that the engine blades don't rotate. I am far from an expert in MD-80s but I would assume that all jet engine's blades would spin ... these ones don't. Not a biggie, but a tad annoying in my opinion.

it's a great plane. It's simple (perhaps too simple), bare bones but fun to fly. Good looking model and friendly instruments and VC. Nice low-frames. It's perhaps the best FREE MD-80 I have found around. Very well done considering that it doesn't cost a dime. Give the choice between spending 30 bux for a payware MD-80 and this guy, I keep this guy any day.

My machine doesn't even bat an eye on it. True I have a monster ... but this VC is lightweight. It looks good and it doesn't really affect FPS at all, than I can detect.

I'd give it a try if I were you. Some VCs look good but they are still simple enough not to kill machines. Some plane modelers make an effort to make things look good without slowing computers to a crawl. This guy did a good job with that.

PS: Love your avatar...  ;D

Give her a try! Now! Make sure to get the panel/VC upgrade, too (Avsim).
A very good aircraft, but I usually don't fly long distance, so I don't have a use for it.

Marco, the engine blades rotate indeed on that one. The static things must be deflectors or something.
-edit: Yeah, the right engine of this MD-82 proves that.
