We have one that occasionally flies from Put-in-Bay to Port Clinton, Ohio. It used to be a regular flight till the ferries became cheaper.

From what I've read...few pilots prefer the older, cranky, shakier planes to the modern, smooth, reliable jet engines of today...

Still, cool shots!  They do evoke nostalgia...

Great shots Papa of some real airplanes where men were men and passengers were nervous.

I toke a twenty minute ride in a Tin Goose in 1972 and couldnot hear a thing for two hours afterward!

That's a great combination of planes we don't often see. Is the last one a Sikorsky? Their designs are so unique(ly ugly). Great pioneering company though. I just find their fixed wing archaic in design. Nice thought for a series!

I find that odd. I took a 20 minute ride in the Tin Goose last October and I didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary. Sure it was loud, but heck, I could talk to my friend just fine while she was flying. Maybe it's just that fact that it's been 23 years since you've been in it!

Yes clipper the second is a Sikorsky S-40. It is in Pan Am clipper livery and is really fun to fly. You have to actullly fly, not rely on autopilot.  ;D
