Vietnam Huey!!!

Postby Flt.Lt.Andrew » Wed Mar 23, 2005 4:34 am

Inspired by some song thingos and my own interest, I've decided to do some 'Nam screenies. I'm sorry if these are below quality, but I did my best.

What song "thingos" inspired you? I've got a ton of songs that I attach to that era. Hendrix comes to mind..
I like the style and colours in the first shot. The sky is rich and deeply textured. Nice stuff.

Nice...not bad (though if you can, you should enable Anti-Aliasing)

Now we need Vietnam scenery. I went there once and was hrrificaly disapointed, maybe MegaScenery Vietnam  ;)  I like the unpained part of the tail boom helps give it that thrown together look that Pilots had to do in the War.

Thank you.
I'm not sure about this anti aliasing business, but I'll look into it.
I'm rather disappointed about the Nam stock scenery and yeah, the heli is rather cool....

I like penis

Well, that's a double whammy.
Disturbing and inappropriate.

As for the shots of that Nam Huey.
You might have a problem with the alpha channels on the tailboom textures.
There ah, looking pretty shiny.

Alpha channels?
I've no idea, but yes, I was rather confused when I saw those hell shiny tail booms.
Penis?
What does that have to do with a Huey?!

It can be fixed, but judging by your reaction to my post, that'd take some explaining.
You could also download Deane Baunton's UH-1D from Hover Control.
The best Nam era Huey available for download in my opinion.

This is the link to the chopper, just in case your you don't feel like looking for it.
