My First Paint!!!

Postby jb2_86_uk » Tue Mar 22, 2005 7:47 pm

Don't know if anyone read the message I posted a few days ago about Air 2000's old colours and the lack of planes to download with the livery. Well I threatened to make my own, and well due to the overwhelming respone (no messages! lol) I did. So using microsoft paint (old school!) I made my first aircraft paint!!! So using Robert Versluys aircraft, I cobbled together my first texture. I have added a screenie into this post anda photo of the real thing! I am still tweaking it here and there perfecting it, I will then be uploading it onto the simviation downloads section!
It is a bit crude, but its my first attempt and can't grumble!

John

Oh yeah, the whole point of that post a few days ago was to express my love for that livery? Does anyone else agree that its nice? I love it. I think its because that is the first plane i was a wee nippa, and my parents bought me one of those models you can buy on the flight.

Aaaah Memories

Nice! You may want to de-mip the textures though...

That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they

I actually forgot about this livery, but did notice it awhile back as it looks nearly identical to the defunct Canada 3000.  I agree it is a really nice scheme, your repaint looks nice as well.

hey chomp, im not sure what de-mipping means, but if it has anything to do with the textures looking blurred - theyrenotin real life - i dont know whats wrong with the screenie.
What does de-mipping mean and how would i de-mip it if it was required?

You need a program called DXTBMP, you can get if free somewhere, dont remember where now though. You might google it. Anyway save your textures in DXT3 without the mipmaps, there is a check box for mipmaps, says something to the effect of save with mipmaps, anyway make sure it is unchecked.......

Very good.
Try to darken the yellow stripes so that they look golden rather than yellow; other than that, top stuff!
