Wrong part of the post...

The song I mention is from the 80's and your clue is in the images with the big planes over the city at night

Jordon, you're 50/50 on The Letter. Originally performed (and written) by the Boxtops. I'm still working on your song title. I guess you know this one fairly well:

Well, here's the intro riff in Tab format...

------------------------------------------------8--8--8--8--8--8
------------------------------------------------8--8--8--8--8--8
-------------------5--5--4--2-------------------5--5--5--5--5--4
------7--7-----7---3--3--2--0--5---5--5-----5-------------------
------7--7--8--7---------------3---5--5--7--5-------------------
---5--5--5--5--5-------------------3--3--3--3-------------------

To my shame...I'm not the guitar player I was when I was a teenager (And thought I would be the next Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Mark Knopfler, etc.)

I'll give that song a go...winds of change by the scorpions?

You're right there Jordon. Speaking of Knopfler, he did a duet on a song with James Taylor. What was the name of that great song? It's from about 3-4 years ago. I'm going to work that scorpion tab a bit..thanks ;)

While you're at it....here's a music/movie/aviation/nautical trivia question:

Where does the term "St. Elmo's Fire" come from?  What is it caused by?  In early aviation, what was the problem(s) it caused, and how is it now solved?

Now a topic I can get into! Unfortunately, my Les Paul, Stratocaster have been collecting the collective dust as I've been playing my Fernades acoustic guitar.

Playing mostly tunes such as:

I don't care if you never come home
I don't mind if you just
keep on rolling away on a distant sea cause
I don't love you and you don't love me.

and

I've been thinking about our fortune
And I've decided that we're really not to blame
For the love that's deep inside us now
It's still the same

Sorry for no chord or tab notation, I can't make it work and look correct.

Where does the term "St. Elmo's Fire" come from?
St. Elmo is actually a derivative of St. Erasmus, an early Christian martyr and the patron saint of sailors. During rough weather, frightened seamen interpreted the blue glow around the tops of the masts as a sign of his protection. Not a song by Demi Moore or Rob Lowe.

What is it caused by?
High voltage in the air, usually during the most severe part of a thunderstorm or slightly after. Not by 80's radio stations.

In early aviation, what was the problem(s) it caused, and how is it now solved?
Sounds like an electrical grounding issue to me, lighting fires on fabric aircraft with no electrical bonding straps. Not that they didin't have 8-track players or portable LP players installed.
