Fighter Collection Corsair

Postby xFLAMESx » Sat Mar 12, 2005 12:28 am

Foreword : "This is my first attempt at this paint scheme in FS9, there are a few minor things that need fixing, but overall I am very happy with my work. . . . .C.Huxted"

Yeah right, whatever ;) time for some pics. . . . . all taken at random. . . . .

On finals to some aircraft carrier off the coast of NSW, Australia, armed with 3Wire. . . . . ;D
Image

Just chillin' on the dirt, location unknown. . . . .
Image

Giving it a large portion, Fighter Collection style at Duxford. . . . . ;D
Image

Straight down the middle (no thanks to the Sidewinder 2 :-/ >:(), taxiing to parking. . . . .
Image

I know it doesn't belong in this forum, but I've included this ONE photo of the real bird for comparison. . . . .
Image

Minor errors I found were :

1) - Roundels on wings are a little far forward and a little too close to the wing-tip. . . . .
2) - The "A" on the tail isn't quite right. . . . .
3) - The font for the "130" isn't the same. . . . .

Although these may be too small to worry about. . . . . ::)
I'm sure I'll get better with practice ;)

Let me know what you think. . . . .

Carl

Very nice indeed, besides the things you pointed out, there's only one thing I can spot, the 130 is maybe just a smidgen to far forward.  Great work though. ;)

Thank you very much ;D
A bit of font resizing should fix that ;)

Glad you like it, after I've ironed out all the little niggles, I might just upload her ;)
(unless igorski, senses my prowess and nails it before me ;). . . . . ;D)

Cheers,

Carl

Nice shots Carl, and I have to say for a first paintjob its REALLY nice, so I think we'll have to keep an eye on Mr. Huxteds work as I think we can expect truely amazing things from him in the future ;)

Indeed you are right old chap ;)
From what I can make out, the colours are right, but were a lot less 'vivid' during service.

Yes you are right, I AM hooked, haven't slept in 25hrs! Just trying to get this thing right ;)
I know most people spend as long as a couple of days doing repaints, but I'm impatient ;D

Carl

It's been discoverd now that the yellow nose on this aircraft during WW2 was in fact yellow primer!

Very nice chap, I missed this when you posted it the other day. I'd like to see the rest of the TFC aircraft done also, most of all the Spit XIV in the "Johnny" Johnson markings ;D
