This cockpit was made for the F18!

Postby A/SGT.Mav316 » Sun Mar 13, 2005 7:18 pm

I can not land the FA/18F worth spit on my carrier without this panel.

This panel has multi function displays that relay tons of info from flight navigation, AI tracking radar, GPS radar, and engine warning status screens.

It compliments the F18 Superhornet really well! I was so happy to discard the default panel!

Looks a little like the Eurofighters Cockpit but not quite a organised. Very nice shot. Where can it be found?

I think this panel is found at Avsim.com. The panel available here on SimV was said to be designed for the reg Hornet by a different designer.

Never gave that one a twirl in the Super hornet. But since I found this one at Avsim i really didn't care!

This one is for keeps. The GPS radar is a pop up it is not part of the panel. When it pops up it is automatically set up to display in that spot. The left and right MFD's are what I mainly pay attention to!

You're right, it does look good. I Especially like that CD player just below the HUD glass.

Any chance of it actually working.
I know there's one or two out there already.
But I could never get them to work.

The virtual cockpit is not as detailed unfortunately  :'(

But the 2D cockpit is really enjoyable to use. For some reason it feels comfortable flying with it. (not many aircraft that I enjoy flying from the 2D cockpit veiw)

As for the CD RADIO, I understand your pain. That thing never works properly! It causes crashes to FS9, so I don't even bother with it!

correction  :-[ The panel can be found right here on SimV on Page 6 of the FS2004 Panel file library!

I was searching for a generic panel for the GR4 Tornado and just happen to see it during the search. My apologies!

I get my goods from here and Avsim.com mostly! ;D

???  I never had any trouble with the CD player...

I think you need a fairly beefy system to use it though.

Got the radio in almost every aircraft and I've never had any problems. And the performance cost is little to none.

Sure, but you need ALT+Tab to switch from WA to FS. If only someone made a UI for it that works like a sub-panel in FS...

I must have been doing something wrong because everytime I used it, I would hear the music for a while then something would cause it to crash. I am using a high end machine at 3.2 ghz processor, 1 gig memory, and 256mb graphics card and 80gb of hardrive space.

Could be bad or old sound drivers.
